Well, friends, we are finally settled into our new home, and it is amazing! With all the hubbub of moving, and shoots, and organizing, my new blog was kinda neglected. Not a great way to start out! But, things are much calmer and more awesome now, so you can expect to see this baby updated more regularly, starting with this lovely wedding.
Laura and Sean had a beautiful backyard wedding in Belmont, Vermont, back in September. You may remember them from their portraits, on my old blog. They weren’t yet engaged when I first photographed them, but Sean proposed soon after. I like to imagine that he was admiring their portraits, thinking of how perfect they look together, when the idea to propose hit him. (Yep, obviously I’m the one responsible for this lovely union). 😉
These two are so creative, and had such a helpful wedding party, that they were able to put together a lot of DIY elements that made the day unique — flowers, mason jar candle holders, pre-wedding jello-shots (genius!), cupcakes (made by Sean…swoon!), pre-reception coffee and hot chocolate, fireworks, and other neat ideas. They also incorporated some beautiful emotional touches: photos, and speeches that included and commemorated friends and family who could not attend, but were present in spirit — the love and support under that tent was absolutely palpable.
Oh! And, on a fun note, the wedding party surprised Laura and Sean with doves! Their release symbolizes peace, love, hope, goodness, and family.
Congrats again, Laura and Sean. I know your marriage will be filled with fireworks!
